Producers Bank opens Bais City Branch in Negros Oriental on March 12, 2014 and is located at Mercado de Bais, National Highway, Bais City, Negros Oriental. It is open for business from 9:00AM to 3:00PM from Mondays to Saturdays except on holidays. 

 

Bais Branch is the second (2nd) branch of Producers Bank in the province of Negros Oriental with the other branch  opened in Dumaguete City last December 27, 2013.

 

Mr. Edmundo C. Medrano, Vice Chairman, President and COO of Producers Bank, is pleased to announce that Bais Branch will be manned by skilled and professional officers and staff headed by Ruby Jucaban – Area Head together with Fredinell Facinal – Branch Head, Kristina Mingoy – Cashier, Josefa Eway – Accoun-ting Assistant, Jennifer June Pelario – Credit Assistant,  Annielyn Calica — Marketing Officer, Ma. Bais City is a third class city located  45 kilometers from the provincial capital of Dumaguete City and has a land area of 31,964 hectares. It is politically subdivided into thirty five (35) barangays and boasts of its bays as having the most beautiful coral reefs in the area.

 

It is the largest producer of raw sugar in Negros Oriental with two sugar mills in the city — the Central Azucarera de Bais, one of the oldest sugar mills in the country and the Universal Robina Sugar Milling Corporation (URSUMCO).

 

The city’s total land area comprising seventy three percent (73%) is devoted to agriculture and thus, the local economy is dominated by agricultural activities and output.  About thirty six percent (36%) of the city’s agricultural land is planted with sugarcane making sugar as the major commercial crop of the city.

 

On the other hand, fish production is the city’s second income earner, with about 428 hectares of the land area devoted to fishpond development and operation and fish culture while the Local Government Unit (LGU) operates the eco-tourism activities in the city, highlighted by whale and dolphin watching and nature treks.
